The Rockford Rampage is an American indoor soccer team based in Rockford. Originally Founded as The Rockford Thunder in 2005. In the 2006 – 2007 season The Rockford Thunder finish 8-4 and fall to the Massachusetts Twisters in the championship game of the AISL (American Indoor Soccer League). Rockford Thunder become the Rockford Rampage August 7, 2007 The AISL announced that the Thunder had changed their name to the Rampage. On the 2007-2008 Season still in the AISL the Rampage finished the regular season with a 12-1 record but still could not win the championship game.
The following year The Rampage won the AISL Championship on March 15, 2008 they defeated the Massachusetts Twisters 18-5 in the AISL championship game at home on March 15, 2008. In the 2009-2010 Season in MISL the Rampage finished the MISL season with a 7-13 record.
The team played in the Major Indoor Soccer League for two years from 2008-2010 and then left the Rockford area and relocated to the Chicago area.
After two years of being away on August 21, 2012 The PASL (Professional Arena Soccer League) announced the Rockford Rampage have joined the league for the 2012-2013 season.
The Rockford Rampage, entering their first season in the Professional Arena Soccer League, have announced open tryouts have been scheduled for September 22 and October 13 at their new home Victory Sports Complex.
I believe that now that soccer has become more popular in the Rockford area there will be more local players on the new Rampage roster thus having more people cheering on the stands hence creating more revenue for the team.
I’ll sure be on every home game cheering for the Rampage, will you?
